Calling All High-Tech Agents!

bull-horn | Calling All High-Tech Agents!

Are you an agent?  Is yours an agency that’s at the top of its game technologically-speaking (the mere fact that you’re reading this blog makes that evident)?  Do you know an agent who fits that description?  If so, pay attention to the following important announcement.

To recognize independent, multi-line agencies making the most innovative use of technology, National Underwriter–in partnership with the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum–invites nominations and entries for the second annual “NU Agency Technology Achievement Award.”

Three award winners will receive roundtrip airfare and a three-night hotel stay to attend the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Orlando, from May 17-19, 2009. Their award-winning approaches will be profiled in NU’s May 18, 2009 edition.

The trio will also share the secrets of their tech success during a panel discussion at the ACORD LOMA Forum, highlights of which will appear in NU’s June 22 edition.

Agencies using technology to improve sales and service in commercial and personal lines, as well as group and individual life and health insurance, are encouraged to enter their IT programs for consideration. Entries must explain how technology helped the agency grow its business, better serve carriers and insureds, as well as streamline operations.

In addition, insurance companies, managing general agencies and technology vendors are welcome to nominate an agency for NU to contact about entering the award program. Although an agency does not need the nomination of a third party to enter, this will give agency partners an opportunity to call NU’s attention to worthy award candidates.  And, given my attention span, this might not be a bad idea.

To nominate an agency, e-mail me–NU Technology Editor Ara Trembly (at atrembly@nuco.com)– no more than 500 words on why the nominee should be considered, and include contact information for the agency. NU will then contact the agency, note the nomination, and invite them to participate in the award program.

For more information about the nominating process, and for details on how agencies may file their entry, go to www.acordlomaforum.org/nuawards.

The deadline for entries is Feb. 1, 2009. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Trembly (that’s me again) at atrembly@nuco.com.
